i was thinking about the impending election and came up with some things i believe about politics and our government...
• i believe we have more freedom, and thus greater responsibility, than citizens of other countries.
• i believe my freedoms end where your freedoms begin, and where they overlap, we should practice manners and common sense courtesy.
• i believe we the people actually means we the people.
• i believe i have a responsibility to vote and to vote responsibly.
• i believe in voting for the person, not the party.
• i believe our government has lost sight of what it is supposed to be and we are all responsible. i believe we are also all responsible for changing it into what it should be.
• i believe politicians should not be allowed in politics.
• i believe when super pacs and special interest groups speak louder than we the people, it is time for a change.
• i believe when politicians no longer listen to we the people, it is time for we the people to speak as one loud voice that demands to be heard.
• i believe when there is no compromise, everyone loses.
• i believe morality and ethics are not situational and do not change based on circumstances.
• i believe one person can make a difference.

bunnies, bunnies, bunnies!!!
yesterday, i went over to visit my friend becca who is also the woman i got my rabbit from. she had taken latte back for a couple of months to see if she could breed her and low and behold, after two tries, latte had 9 babies on christmas day!!! so yesterday i went to visit them. OH MY GOSH!!! they are just too cute! if you have never seen baby bunnies at around 3 weeks old, it is definitely something to behold. they are hopping and jumping and twirling and simply adorable. i had so much fun!!! since all of them but two look exactly alike, becca asked me to help her take pictures. i would get one baby from the cage, she would photograph it, then we would put it in a low sided box so we would know it had already been photographed. this was definitely a two person job as they all wanted to jump around and hop out of the box! oh my!! they were too funny!!! poor latte was happy to have them gone for a bit, i think. but then they all came back. she is being an excellent mommy and the babies are healthy, happy and very very sweet. :-)

i need a lyric sheet...
i know we all mis-hear things sometimes, but honestly, i think i need a lyric sheet whenever i listen to the radio. macy gray has a song titled “i try.” until very recently, i thought the last line of the chorus was “i want gumballs when you are not here.” i know it makes no sense, but then, break ups never do. and besides, who wouldn’t want gumballs when they are going through a break up? so, imagine my surprise when i realized the words were actually “my world crumbles when you are not near.” personally, i think the gumball line is much better as it’s definitely less obvious and completely unexpected.
my husband, ed, informed me not too long ago, that the line in "another brick in the wall" wasn't "no dogs or cats are in the classroom," but actually "no dark sarcasm in the classroom." who knew?? i figured that pink floyd was saying that dogs and cats don't sit in a classroom so why should people. apparently, dark sarcasm makes more sense than dogs and cats.
and finally, this morning, while listening to 929 dave fm, i heard fitz and the tantrums song "moneygrabber." i thought the last line of the chorus was "here is your paper party platter." it's not. it's "this is your payback, moneygrabber." had i not looked at the title and paid super close attention after seeing it, i would still be living in happy oblivion with my paper party platter.
